The training course enabled the participants to manage, format, chart and analyze data more effectively using MS Excel, and perform basic statistical analysis using PHStat.

The participants did hands-on exercises on MS Excel using three integrated tools: worksheet, graphics, and databases. They learned to manage, retrieve and analyze data from lists and tables, and perform basic statistical analysis.

The 47 participants who attended the training were grouped into two. All have been involved or assigned in simple database management responsibilities. Agencies they represented were from the: University of Rizal Systems, PhilHealth National Economic and Development Authority – Central Office, Department of Health – Regional Office IV-A, Philippine Science High School, JAKA Investments Corp, Dangerous Drugs Board, Bureau of Fire Protection, Don Bosco Technological Institute, Philippine Carabao Center, Regional Trial Court Manila City Hall, Millennium Challenge Account-Philippines, Bataan Peninsula State University,  Department of Labor and Employment, LGU-WAO, San Roque Power Corporation, Philippine Commission on Women – Monitoring     and Evaluation Division (MED), Albay Millennium Development Goals Office and Office of Senator Trillanes

Resource persons are Mr. Rocky T. Marcelino, Mr. Ramoncito G. Cambel and Mr. John Lorenzo A. Yambot, all from the UP Institute of statistics, Los Baños, Laguna. Assigned training coordinators are Ana Julia J. Macaraig and Geraldine H. Dela Peña, of the PSRTI.
