The training course teaches the mechanics of preparing concise and clear statistical reports with the use of computer software applications. Likewise, techniques on how to craft these statistical reports to suit a variety of readers and make effective presentations are integral part of the hands-on and workshop exercises portion of the course.
All 24 participants was able to write statistical reports, enhanced their oral and written presentation skills thru the actual presentations they made. The presentations were videotaped to ensure immediate feedback and critiquing by resource persons and the participants themselves. The agencies represented were National Economic and Development Authority Regions 1, IV-A and V; National Wages and Productivity Commission-DOLE; Department of Budget and Management; National Nutrition Council; Sugar Regulatory Administration; Department of Science and Technology; and Department of Labor and Employment- Region 3 There were also 10 foreign participants from the UN Population Fund and Central Statistics Organization of Afghanistan.
Resource persons are Professor Josefina V. Almeda and Mr. Michael Daniel C. Lucagbo of the UP School of Statistics, Diliman, Quezon City. Assigned training coordinator is Ana Julia J. Ana Macaraig.
