TRAINING AGENDA

The PSRTI has the mandate of developing comprehensive and integrated research and training program on statistical theories, concepts and methodologies. Consistently, the Training Division commits to its agenda of conducting non-degree training programs that seek to upgrade the quality of the statistical workforce in support of the needs of the statistical system.

TRAIN WITH US

The PSRTI consciously maintain a high standard in the conduct of training courses. Only the best-qualified resource persons and recognized experts in the different fields of statistics are invited to handle each training course. PSRTI provides ample opportunity for hands-on practice and instruction through interactive discussions, lectures, and workshops. Our programs are designed to be enriching and engaging, ensuring that no training participant is left behind, whether online or in a face-to-face setting.

Training certificates are awarded to participants upon the completion of the minimum number of hours attended and upon fulfillment of course requirements.

REGULAR TRAINING COURSES

Regular Training Courses (RTCs) cover topics on the foundation of statistics, data collection, management, processing, and analysis, statistical report writing and presentation, up to advance topics on statistical modeling, policy analysis, and impact evaluations.

These training courses are conducted for 4-5 days and are open to all interested individuals, including employees from the public and private sectors. RTCs are offered every semester and are released on our website and social media accounts within the first quarter of the calendar year.

CUSTOMIZED TRAINING COURSES

Customized Training Courses (CTCs) are exclusively being provided to the participants identified by the proponent government agency. The client-agency data is incorporated into the PSRTI training modules and may utilize existing PSRTI or newly developed modules based on the statistical needs of the requesting party.

The duration of a customized training course may range from 4 days to a series of 4-6 day training modules, based on the requirements of the proponent agency.

To request a CTC, interested parties may send a Letter of Request to the PSRTI Executive Director III Josefina V. Almeda, Ph.D. (josefina.almeda@psrti.gov.ph), copy furnished the Chief Statistical Specialist of the Training Division Ms. Maria Praxedes R. Peña (pinky.pena@psrti.gov.ph, fay.ignacio@psrti.gov.ph, and zedric.ganan@psrti.gov.ph), and include the following details: training course/s, target schedule, mode (online or face-to-face), and the number of participants. A minimum of fifteen (15) participants are required for CTCs.

NOTES:

For ONLINE training: Online Regular Training Courses will be conducted using Zoom®. Participants who will register in these training courses should: use their own laptop/desktop with a modest camera; have a strong and stable Internet connection with a speed of at least 2 Mbps; and use their headphones/earphones (for better reception) with built-in microphone for the duration of the training.

For FACE-TO-FACE training: Regular Face-to-Face Training Courses will be conducted at the PSRTI premises. Participants who will register for these training courses should be fully vaccinated and boosted. Participants must present any of their government-issued IDs and vaccination IDs upon entry into the PSRTI premises. Registration fee includes training kit, packed meals (AM & PM snacks and lunch) and other incidental expenses.

The PSRTI has industry-standard training rooms, equipped with the latest audio-visual equipment, for a conducive and participant-friendly learning environment.

With the COVID-19 pandemic, and realizing the increasing needs to capacitate clients and stakeholders, the PSRTI adjusted quickly to new normal restrictions and training courses are conducted online via the video-conferencing application Zoom. Through this ingenious platform, the PSRTI is able to reach valuable participants locally and globally – while keeping the tradition of high-quality service and professional training services, regardless of location or time zone.

Due to easing restrictions, the PSRTI is also offering face-to-face Regular Training Courses. Interested participants may visit our Enrollment page for the schedule, fees, and other reminders.

The PSRTI boasts of one of the most well-organized online capacity-building available in the country today. Each course is handled by a minimum of three (3) training coordinators, ensuring that each participant is attended to immediately in case of questions and/or technical difficulty, ensuring maximum use of time online as well as value for money in terms of registration fees. All matters pertaining to the program, from content development to actual conduct are professionally handled in a timely manner.
