Twenty participants from the Senate Economic Planning Office (SEPO) and the PSRTI attended the Customized Training Course (CTC) on Compilation and Analysis of the Philippine Input-Output (IO) Table from March 3-7, 2025, at the PSRTI Gervacio G. Selda Room. The course was led by Resource Persons Ms. Vivian Ilarina, Mr. Florande Polistico, and Ms. Jovel Nabia.

The course aimed to strengthen participants’ skills in compiling and analyzing the IO Table, which provides a comprehensive snapshot of a country’s economy by illustrating the interdependencies between industries, the relationship between producers and consumers, and the income generated from production. By equipping participants with tools and techniques for effective IO Table analysis, the course enhances their ability to make informed decisions that align with national economic goals and contribute to developmental planning and policymaking.

During the Closing Ceremonies, select participants shared that the topics discussed provided valuable insights into the real-world dynamics of the Philippine economy, which would help them make more informed decisions. The expert facilitation by the Resource Persons ensured a smooth and engaging experience for all participants, contributing to the success of the training.

Ms. Maria Praxedes Peña, Chief Statistical Specialist of the Training Division, delivered the opening and closing remarks on behalf of PSRTI Executive Director III, Dr. Josefina V. Almeda. SEPO Executive Director Merwin H. Salazar also gave a message during the closing ceremony, expressing gratitude to the training team, participants, and PSRTI for their continuous collaboration through CTCs. To cap off the event, SEPO staff presented Certificates of Appreciation and tokens to the Resource Persons and training coordinators in recognition of their contributions to the successful conduct of the course.
