SDG 5 seminar conducted for Regions IX and Caraga

A total of 87 participants from various National Government Agencies (NGAs) and Local Government Units (LGUs) in Regions IX and Caraga participated in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Seminar 5 on “Mastering Data Management: A Guide to Google Sheets and MS Excel.” The virtual seminar, held via Zoom from July 2 to 4, was conducted by the PSRTI Training Division.

Resource Persons Ms. Jazel Ann Raper and Mr. Eduard Gatus led the seminar, providing in-depth training on data management and data visualization using MS Excel and Google Sheets. This complimentary course, also available as a Regular Training Course (RTC) at PSRTI, is designed to equip participants with essential skills for effective data handling and presentation.

During the Closing Ceremonies, participants praised the conduct of the course, describing the Resource Persons as “excellent” and commending their “expertise and approachable demeanor.” Attendees highlighted the practical skills they acquired, particularly in utilizing Google Sheets, and expressed their gratitude for the valuable knowledge shared.

Ms. Pinky Peña, Chief Statistical Specialist of the Training Division, delivered remarks on behalf of PSRTI Executive Director III Josefina V. Almeda. PhD. Additionally, Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region XIII Assistant Regional Director Donald Seronay provided a closing message, thanking all involved parties for their contributions to the seminar’s success.

The SDG 5 seminar is part of an ongoing series initiated by PSRTI in partnership with DILG, which began with SDG 1 in 2018. These seminars, offered free of charge to invited regional NGAs and LGUs, underscore PSRTI’s commitment to enhancing local governance through improved data management practices.
