SDG 5 kicks off with Regions 2, CAR

Over 300 participants from various National Government Agencies (NGAs) and Local Government Units (LGUs) of Region II and the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) attended the inauguaral Sustainable Development Goals Seminar 5 on Mastering Data Management: A Guide to Google Sheets and MS Excel conducted March 5-7, 2024 via Zoom. The Resource Persons were Ms. Jazel Ann Raper and Ms. Haidee Fay Ignacio, both from the PSRTI Training Division.
The course aims to prepares LGUs for the full devolution of Programs, Activities, and Projects (PAPs) under the Executive Order 138 series of 2021 (EO 138 s 2021) by addressing their competency needs in data literacy with a focus on practical statistical data management. It covers topics on data management, practical data management techniques, and data analysis using descriptive statistics.
Participant impressions expressed praise and appreciation for the training team not only for their expertise on the topics covered but also for their ability to simply but comprehensively explain the concepts. Participants were also grateful for the Resource Persons’ patience in repeating explanations to ensure no participant was left behind during the discussions. They also shared that they learned new techniques that optimized their workflow and were enthusiastic about the course’s applicability to their daily tasks.
The Closing Ceremonies were held on the final day of the training and featured closing messages from PSRTI Executive Director III Josefina V. Almeda, PhD and the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region II Director Agnes De Leon, CESO IV.
This is the 5th leg of SDG seminars being conducted by the PSRTI in coordination with DILG, which began with SDG 1 in 2018. It is one of the hallmark activities of the PSRTI and is free for all invited participants from regional NGAs and LGUs.
