The face-to-face Regular Training Course (RTC) on Crafting Clarity: Technical Writing for Statistical Reports, initially set for September 2–6, 2024, at the Gervacio G. Selda Room of the PSRTI, was delayed by a day due to government work suspensions amid Typhoon Enteng. With Resource Persons Prof. Michael Daniel Lucagbo and Prof. Martin Augustine Borlongan from the University of the Philippines Diliman School of Statistics (UPSS), the course commenced on September 3 in a hybrid format. With improved weather, a full face-to-face setup resumed on September 4 and continued until the end of the training.
The course provided participants with essential skills for conveying statistical information clearly to diverse audiences, covering concise report writing, effective use of tables and charts, and document formatting in Microsoft Word. Designed for technical personnel, it builds on foundational knowledge of data management and descriptive statistics.
Feedback from participants was highly positive. Attendees commended the expert resource persons, well-structured content, and conducive learning environment. They praised the training team’s organization, timely communications, and adaptability in managing unexpected changes. The Resource Persons were lauded for their clear, engaging teaching styles, while practical exercises and course materials were appreciated for reinforcing learning. Participants expressed satisfaction with the supportive training venue and the professionalism of the PSRTI team, who ensured a seamless experience despite weather disruptions. The successful training left participants with valuable technical writing skills relevant to their roles.
