Members of the Regional Statistics Committee (RSC) in Region III participated in a three-day training on Mastering Data Management: A Guide to Google Sheets and MS Excel from November 26-28, 2024 at The Orchid Gardens Resort Complex, San Fernando, Pampanga. The event was attended by 47 participants from various RSC member-agencies in the region. The Resource Persons were Mr. Ken Zedric Ganan and Mr. Eduard Gatus of the PSRTI Training Division.

The program began with an opening message from Ms. Arlene Z. Torrico, Chief Statistical Specialist from the Philippine Statistics Authority – Regional Statistical Services Office (PSA RSSO) Region III. She highlighted the importance of data management in driving evidence-based decision-making.

The training aimed to equip participants with essential skills to manage and analyze data effectively, utilizing the features of Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel. The resource persons provided hands-on training and practical insights into using these tools for advanced data management.

Participants appreciated the well-organized and highly informative sessions, which enhanced their data management skills. They also shared that while some exercises were fast-paced and challenging, the Resource Persons offered thorough explanations and assistance when needed.

The Closing Ceremonies featured a message from Ms. Arlene M. Divino, Director II of PSA RSSO III. She congratulated the participants and underscored the significant role of the RSC in advancing statistical capabilities within the region.

This training underscores the RSC’s commitment to empowering its member agencies with the tools and knowledge needed to enhance their statistical and data management competencies.
