PSRTI partners with DHSUD for Research Project on Housing Needs

The PSRTI and the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) entered into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the Updating of the Framework in Estimating the Housing Needs for the period of 2023-2028.

This engagement, certified through the MOA signed by PSRTI Executive Director III Josefina Almeda, Ph.D., and DHSUD Undersecretary Avelino D. Tolentino III on May 10, 2023, is the second time the estimation framework for housing needs is to be revisited and updated by the PSRTI, with the first being in 2016. The initial framework was devised in 2009 by the Statistical Research and Training Center (SRTC), the predecessor of the PSRTI prior to the reorganization brought about by RA 10625.
Director Almeda thanked the DHSUD for the continued confidence given to PSRTI in handling the timely task of reviewing and updating the current framework in order to ensure up-to-date definitions and scope, identify existing gaps and limitations, and recognize best practices, among others.
