The PSRTI customized statistical capacity building program for the DENR made an impact on participants in Northern Mindanao (Region X). The two trainings, Basic and Advanced Statistical Analysis was attended by almost 100 participants, conducted on various dates in Harbor Lights Hotel and Restaurant, Cagayan De Oro City.

The training on Basic Statistical Analysis was said to be very useful to the current work assignments of the participants, and that its conduct was organized with the right amount of topic progression and pacing. The resource persons, training assistants, and coordinators also helped the participants to not only enjoy the training but to be truly immersed with the statistics tools being learned.   

The same positive impressions were given by the participants in the Advanced Statistical Analysis training. They even commended the venue and meals that were served in a healthy and delicious manner. All the lectures covered the given topics, further enhanced by the workshop sessions and exchanges of questions and clarifications between and among the lecturers, training assistants and participants. 

The first training on Basic Statistical Analysis had a total of 50 training participants and was held on March 11-15, 2019. Professors Nancy A. Tandang, Ph.D. and James Roldan S. Reyes of the Institute of Statistics (INSTAT) of the University of the Philippines (UP) Los Baños served as resource persons for the 50 participants, which was divided into two classes of 25 each. The second training on Advanced Statistical Analysis for the same set of participants was conducted on March 25-29, 2019 with Professors John Carlo P. Daquis of the School of Statistics, UP Diliman and James Roldan S. Reyes of the UPINSTAT as resource persons.
