PSA National Statistician Dr. Claire Dennis S. Mapa delivered the opening remarks where he stressed that the “national statistical system encounters challenges and gaps as it strives to adapt to the changing data landscape”, and expressed the importance of having the national government work hand-in-hand with the local government units to collect, produce, analyze, and disseminate high quality and reliable statistics to aid in better decision making. Other PSA officials involved in Sustainable Development Goals (SGDs), Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS), and other gender statistics sectors of the agency attended the workshop.

An interesting highlight was the presence of representatives from the Republic of Maldives, led by Chief Statistician Ms. Aishath Shahuda and other officials from the Maldives Bureau of Statistics who also benefited from the use of the CD4.0 Framework. They presented the accomplishments of their own training and gave generous praise and insights into the Philippine experience as they witnessed the outputs presented by the participants of the pilot project.

The workshop served as an avenue for participants and stakeholders to discuss the impact of the CD4.0 Project to the Philippines. Select participants from Balanga City and the Municipality of Samal gave their testimonials on how the CD4.0 Training Series aided them in analyzing and visualizing CBMS data with special focus on gender related statistics. There were also presentations and discussion from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Director Anna Liza F. Bonagua and Ms. Josephine Khaleen Sasuman of the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) as they shared their learnings on the importance of the CD4.0 Framework being implemented in the Philippines and the future steps that the team could take moving forward.

The PSRTI, through agency head Dr. Josefina V. Almeda, expresses its sincerest thanks to PARIS21, PSA, DILG, PCW, and Bataan for their support and cooperation in making the CD4.0 a complete success.
