33 participants from Regional Statistics Committee (RSC) member agencies attended the conduct of the Complimentary Training Course on Mastering Data Management: A Guide to Google Sheets and MS Excel at the Philippine Statistics Authority Regional Statistical Services Office (PSA RSSO) Region I, San Fernando City, La Union on May 21-23, 2024. The Resource Persons were Ms. Jazel Ann Raper and Ms. Haidee Fay Ignacio from the PSRTI.

Over the three days, participants delved into comprehensive modules designed to enhance their proficiency in data management using the widely utilized spreadsheet tools, Google Sheets and MS Excel. The course covered essential skills, advanced techniques, and best practices, ensuring that attendees left equipped to handle data more efficiently and effectively.
This initiative marks the fifth stop in a nationwide series of complimentary training sessions, aimed at reaching all RSCs across the Philippines. The collaboration between the PSRTI, PSA, and the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) underscores a concerted effort to bolster the data management capabilities of RSCs. By improving these skills, the committees can better serve their communities with accurate and insightful data analysis.
Building on the success of the previous year’s complimentary training on data visualization and infographics creation using Canva, this year’s focus on data management reflects a sustained commitment to capacitating the Philippine Statistical System (PSS). These initiatives are pivotal in empowering RSCs with the necessary tools and knowledge to enhance their operational efficiency and analytical prowess.
