The course aims to equip participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to understand and explain relationships among variables using regression analysis, a widely used statistical technique. The course covers how to formulate regression models, the underlying assumptions, software for model estimation, diagnosing data for regression assumptions, and providing remedies when assumptions are not met. Additionally, it focuses on predicting values using estimated models and developing strategies for building useful models. It is intended for technical staff whose work involves examining data sets for structural relationships and making predictions using econometric models.

Select participants gave their feedback during the Closing Ceremonies held on the final day of the course, sharing that the conduct of the training was “commendable” and “well-paced”. Dr. Lucagbo was praised for his clear expertise on the subject matter, going “above and beyond” by introducing highly relevant topics outside the scope of the course.

PSRTI Executive Director III Josefina V. Almeda, PhD delivered closing remarks during the Closing Ceremonies, thanking the Resource Person, training team, and participants for their collective effort in ensuring the event’s success. She also expressed gratitude to the PSA for their continued collaboration with the PSRTI and commitment to the enhancement of the Philippine Statistical System (PSS).
