The Sustainable Development Goals Seminar 5 (SDG 5) on Mastering Data Management: A Guide to Google Sheets and MS Excel was conducted for 98 personnel from various National Government Agencies (NGAs) and Local Government Units (LGUs) in Region VIII on June 18-20, 2024. The Resource Persons were PSRTI Training Division staff Mr. Ken Zedric Ganan and Mr. Eduard Gatus.

The complimentary course, which is also offered as a Regular Training Course (RTC) at the PSRTI, aims to equip participants with valuable data management and data visualization skills using the popular and accessible spreadsheet tools MS Excel and Google Sheets.
The Closing Ceremonies, held on the final day of the three-day course, featured feedback from participants, where they appreciated the training team’s commitment to create opportunities for interaction between the Resource Persons and participants despite the difficulty of using an online platform. The Resource Persons were also praised for their “exceptional ability to convey topics”, which they deemed “extremely relevant, informative, and useful” to their respective functions.
Closing messages were also given by Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region VIII Assistant Regional Director Atty. Darwin Bibar, CESO V and PSRTI Executive Director III Josefina V. Almeda, PhD.
The SDG 5 seminar is part of a continuing series initiated by PSRTI in partnership with DILG, which commenced with SDG 1 in 2018. These seminars are hallmark activities of PSRTI, offered free of charge to invited participants from regional NGAs and LGUs, underscoring the PSRTI’s commitment to enhancing local governance through improved data management practices.
