DOST attends 3rd batch of virtual course on Effective Presentation Skills and Techniques

The Philippine Statistical Research and Training Institute (PSRTI) conducted the batch 3 of the virtual training course on Effective Presentation Skills and Techniques for the staff of the Department of Science and Technology’s (DOST) central, regional offices, and attached agencies on September 20-22, 2022.

Ms. Donna Aura A. Lumbo, a freelance Human Resource and Organizational Development (HROD) Consultant and Executive Coach, is the resource person for this batch with 24 training participants coming from DOST central office, Regions VI, VII, VIII, and IX, as well as from attached agencies which include Philippine Science High School (PSHS), National Academy of Science and Technology (NAST), National Research Council of the Philippines (NRCP), Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (PCHRD), Philippine Council for Industry, Energy, and Emerging Technology Research and Development (PCIEERD), Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (PCAARRD), Industrial Technology Development Institute (ITDI), Technology Application and Promotion Institute (TAPI), Science and Technology Information Institute (STII), Philippine Textile Research Institute (PTRI), Food and Nutrition Research Institute (FNRI), and Science and Technology Foundation Unit (STFU).
The 3-day training course consisted of lectures, hands-on activities, discussions, and workshop exercises. The topics discussed focused on how to captivate and engage the audience, deliver with confidence, and get techniques to bring vitality, interest, and clarity to the presentation.
The training received positive feedback that included, “…from a scale of 1-5, my rating is perfect 5 with regards to the general organization of the training,” and, “The sequencing or flow of the activities is seamless making it easy for us to follow”. Other positive feedback includes, “Ma’am Donna is an excellent resource person. She was very accommodating, friendly, and engaging. Perfect!” and, “The best training team. They are very professional (all the sessions I attended). It seems they are following a certain process or flow in handling the training. I feel the same vibe every session, whoever is facilitating it. Tatak PSRTI!”
Ms. Kristine Honey M. Villa, Senior Statistical Specialist of the Training Division, delivered the Closing Message representing the PSRTI Officer-in-Charge and Training Chief, Ms. Maria Praxedes R. Peña. She congratulated the DOST for the third batch of successful participants who completed the 4-module capability-building program for its staff.
