DOST attends virtual course on Effective Presentation Skills and Techniques

The Philippine Statistical Research and Training Institute (PSRTI) conducted two simultaneous batches of the virtual training course on Effective Presentation Skills and Techniques for the staff of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Central and Regional offices on July 5-7, 2022.

Mr. Joseph Anthony C. Ayllon, Founder and Chief Consultant of MAGIS Communications Manila (Public Relations and Communications Firm) is the resource person for Batch 1 with 22 training participants coming from Regions I, III, MIMAROPA, VI, VII, VIII, CAR, Caraga, and Central Office.

Batch 2, on the other hand, has Ms. Donna Aura A. Lumbo, a freelance Talent Management Consultant and Executive Coach, as resource person, with 31 participants from Regions II, IVA, MIMAROPA, IX, XI, XII, NCR, CAR, and Central Office.

The 3-day training course consisted of lectures, hands-on activities, discussions, and workshop exercises. The topics discussed focused on how to captivate and engage the audience, deliver with confidence and get techniques to bring vitality, interest, and clarity to the presentation.

During the joint closing ceremonies, both batches received positive feedback that included it being: “Everything planned perfectly and exceeded expectations. It was a smooth, organized, and friendly training…” Other positive feedback includes, “the resource person had an excellent ability to communicate with their students and the training course was delivered with professionalism” and, “The training team is the best – they are kind and approachable…and effective moderators. They are well-trained to handle this kind of training.”

Mr. Christopher Mojica, Senior Statistical Specialist of the Training Division, delivered the Closing Message representing the PSRTI Officer-in-Charge and Training Chief, Ms. Maria Praxedes R. Peña. He relayed the agency’s gratitude to DOST for the trust in the delivery of the capability-building needs of its staff.
