Director Almeda attends UNSIAP SGGST Meeting in Bangkok, November 14-16, 2023

PSRTI Executive Director III Dr. Josefina V. Almeda, attends the 8th Meeting of the Sub-Group on Gender Statistics (SGGST) in Bangkok, where she shared her insights and feedback on the best practices and strategies related to the revised content of the Gender Statistics Training Curriculum.
The event, organized by the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) Office for Asia and the Pacific and the Statistical Institute for Asia and the Pacific (SIAP), took place at the Bangkok Marriott Hotel in Sukhumvit from November 14 to 16, 2023.
Gleaning from her experiences at the PSRTI, Director Almeda discussed some best practices and strategies related to the Gender Statistics Training. The agenda of the 8th meeting encompassed building upon the discussions initiated in the previous virtual session. This included a thorough review of the Gender Statistics Training Curriculum, finalizing overarching documents, and establishing a timeline for the completion of the review exercise. Additionally, the meeting aimed to identify the next steps for the Sub-Group and determine the direction of training courses to be conducted in 2024.
Director Almeda’s participation underscored the commitment of PSRTI to contribute meaningfully capacity-building, this time before the international community, focusing on gender statistics. It emphasized the PSRTI’s dedication to advancing statistical knowledge and practices on a global scale.
