The training sessions were conducted by esteemed Resource Persons from the University of the Philippines School of Statistics (UPSS). Mr. George Manapat and Ms. Czarinne Antonio led the lectures for Batch 1, while Mr. John Carlo Daquis took charge of Batch 3.

Over the five-day course, participants were trained to explain the significance of reliable statistics, compare data quality from various sources, understand basic sampling techniques, identify suitable approaches for designing probability surveys of national coverage, and describe appropriate estimation and variance approximation methods. The course targeted technical staff involved in survey design, estimation, and data analysis.

The event received high praise from the participants, who noted its smooth and well-organized execution. They commended the Resource Persons for their expertise and professionalism, highlighting the practical, real-world examples provided during the discussions and patience in ensuring all participants understood each topic.

PSRTI Executive Director III Josefina V. Almeda, PhD attended both the Opening and Closing Ceremonies. In her remarks delivered in both programs, she expressed gratitude for the ongoing partnership between PSA and PSRTI through the availment of CTCs. Dr. Almeda encouraged participants to continue their professional development by enrolling in more advanced courses.

The successful conduct of this training course underscores the PSRTI’s and PSA’s commitment to enhancing the skills of the Philippine Statistical System (PSS), ensuring the production of high-quality statistics critical for national development planning.
