Complimentary trainings for RSCs continue in Eastern Visayas

A three-day complimentary training course on Mastering Data Management: A Guide to Google Sheets and MS Excel was successfully conducted for 36 participants from the Regional Statistics Committee (RSC) Region VIII. Held at the Ironwood Hotel from July 2 to 4, 2024, the event aimed to enhance the data management skills of the attendees. The training was facilitated by Ms. Haidee Fay Ignacio and Mr. Ken Zedric Ganan from the PSRTI Training Division.

During the opening ceremonies, key figures including Ms. Wilma Perante, Regional Director of Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Region VIII; Ms. Meylene Rosales, Regional Director of National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Region VIII; and Josefina V. Almeda, PhD, Executive Director III of the PSRTI, delivered inspiring remarks, where they emphasized the importance of such training in strengthening the Philippine Statistical System (PSS).

The course provided participants with comprehensive knowledge on data management using Google Sheets and MS Excel. It featured practical sessions on handling various types of data, conducting discussions, and workshops utilizing actual local government data. The training also focused on guiding participants in using appropriate summary measures, tables, and charts for different data types.

The event concluded with closing remarks from Ms. Perante and Dr. Almeda, who expressed their gratitude to the participants and the training team for their dedication and hard work, ensuring the success of the program.

This training is part of ongoing efforts to bolster the capabilities of RSC members, ensuring that they are well-equipped with the necessary skills to manage and analyze data effectively.
