The Complimentary Training Course on Mastering Data Management: A Guide to Google Sheets and MS Excel was successfully conducted for 38 participants from member agencies of the Region IX Regional Statistics Committee (RSC) at the Grand Astoria Hotel, Zamboanga City, on September 3-5, 2024. The training was led by Resource Persons Mr. Christopher Mojica and Ms. Fay Ignacio of the PSRTI Training Division, who delivered sessions with a focus on practical, hands-on exercises to enhance data management skills.

Participants expressed positive feedback during the Closing Ceremonies held on the final day, commending the training team for their professionalism, expertise, and structured event management. Their feedback also highlighted the relevance of the practical exercises, which reinforced the topics covered and added depth to the learning experience. Strict adherence to the schedule also earned praise, as it allowed participants to maximize the training benefits while staying engaged.

During the Closing Ceremonies, PSRTI Executive Director III Josefina V. Almeda, PhD, and OIC Chief Ms. Ma. Flerida Tan extended their gratitude to both the training team and participants for their contributions to the event’s success. Their remarks emphasized the value of collaboration in advancing statistical skills within government agencies.

This complimentary training is part of PSRTI’s ongoing partnership with the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) and the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA). Now in its second year, the initiative is designed to provide essential data management skills to RSC member agencies across all regions of the Philippines, supporting the broader goal of promoting data-driven decision-making in government.
