PSRTI conducts customized Statistics for Program and Project Monitoring and Evaluation for DepEd

The Philippine Statistical Research and Training Institute (PSRTI) conducts the customized training course on Statistics for Program and Project Monitoring and Evaluation for the Department of Education (DepEd) on March 15-19, 2021, with sixteen Technical Staff from the Bureau of Learning Delivery of DepEd participating. The virtual training is able to have the Executive Director of the Philippine National Volunteer Service Coordinating Agency (PNVSCA) Donald James D. Gawe and University of the Philippines Population Institute Professor Michael Dominic C. Del Mundo as resource persons.

The five-day training provided comprehensive knowledge on designing program and project Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) system using its seven stages of building. The participants, using their own data, are able to link targeted program and project results to critical indicators necessary in tracking performance to ensure the achievement of short- and long-term outcomes.

The participants of the course are considered the future M&E core-group and specialists of the bureau mandated to build and maintain the envisioned monitoring and evaluation system of the agency.

Some of the impressions on the trainings are: “excellent training design”, “very organized conduct of training courses”, “well-managed time/schedule of the courses”, “resource persons are knowledgeable, discussed the topics clearly, and are very flexible in adjusting the topics to accommodate the needs of the participants”, “training materials were provided on-time and the use of Google Drive is a very good strategy”, “the topics were discussed clearly and in layman’s terms”, “the training team is commendable and excellent, very accommodating and the support, collaboration, and friendliness provided to the participants are superb”.

The training on Statistics for Program and Project Monitoring and Evaluation is part of the Capacity Building initiative for the technical staff of the Bureau of Learning Delivery through a Memorandum of Agreement entered into by the PSRTI and DepEd.
