The first leg of the Complimentary Course on Interactive Dashboards: Transforming Data into Dynamic Insights Using MS Power BI was successfully conducted for 29 participants from member-agencies of Region V’s Regional Statistics Committee (RSC). Held on March 25–27, 2025, at the Philippine Statistics Authority – Regional Statistical Services Office (PSA-RSSO) Region V Conference Room in Legazpi City, the training was facilitated by Mr. Zed Ganan and Ms. Fay Ignacio of the PSRTI Training Division, who served as the Resource Persons.

This 3-day course was designed to equip participants with essential skills in analyzing and visualizing data using Microsoft Power BI. Through a combination of lectures, hands-on exercises, and workshops, participants learned how to manage and model data, apply DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) for dynamic insights, and create compelling visualizations. The course also explored advanced features such as editing visual interactions, applying filters, using drill-through functionalities, and publishing interactive dashboards via the Power BI Service.
During the Closing Ceremonies, participants expressed their appreciation for the Resource Persons, commending their ability to simplify complex concepts and maintain a pace that allowed even beginners to grasp the material with ease. The course was lauded for its practical value and clear delivery, which ensured that all attendees could follow along and gain meaningful insights from the training.

National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Region V Director Cynthia S. Berces welcomed participants during the Opening Ceremonies and encouraged them to keep an open mind as they explored new knowledge and tools. Meanwhile, PSA RSSO V Regional Director Cynthia L. Perdiz and PSRTI Executive Director III Josefina V. Almeda, PhD delivered the Closing Remarks, thanking both the training team and the participants for their active involvement and shared commitment to the training’s success.
Now on its third year, the conduct of Complimentary Courses for the RSC continues in coordination with NEDA and PSA, with training sessions planned for all regions across the Philippines.
