As part of its commitment to staying at the forefront of data visualization trends, personnel from the Training and Research Divisions of the PSRTI participated in two Training of Trainers (TOT) sessions on interactive dashboards. The first session, Interactive Dashboards Using MS Excel, was held from January 27-28, 2025, followed by Interactive Dashboards Using Google Sheets on February 4-5, 2025. Both training sessions were facilitated by Mr. Elpidio Nogales, Jr., a freelance IT consultant.
The TOTs aimed to equip participants with the skills needed to create interactive dashboards using MS Excel and Google Sheets, enabling them to visualize key indicators from CBMS raw data and tables. The sessions covered essential dashboard design principles, methods for selecting and presenting indicators, and techniques for incorporating interactive features to enhance data representation.
Participants responded positively to the training, commending Mr. Nogales for his expertise and patience in explaining complex topics. One participant highlighted her appreciation for the advanced capabilities of Google Sheets, noting that she had previously underestimated its potential.

The training commenced with Opening Remarks from Ms. Maria Praxedes Peña, Chief Statistical Specialist of the Training Division. The event concluded with Closing Remarks by Dr. Josefina V. Almeda, Executive Director III and Head of Agency, who expressed her gratitude to the resource person, participants, and training coordinators for their efforts in ensuring the training’s success. She underscored the importance of TOTs in strengthening PSRTI’s capacity to deliver high-quality, timely, and responsive statistical research and training.
