A free webinar on Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Seminar 5: A Guide to Google Sheets and MS Excel was conducted from August 13 to 15, 2024, for 184 participants from National Government Agencies (NGAs) and Local Government Units (LGUs) in Region XI and BARMM. The training, facilitated by Mr. Ares Parales and Mr. Jikko Mojica from the PSRTI Training Division, aimed to strengthen data management skills crucial for supporting LGU initiatives.
Throughout the seminar, participants praised the training team for their expertise, professionalism, and commitment to effective instruction. Attendees noted the trainers’ responsiveness and patience, especially during hands-on activities, which helped ensure comprehensive understanding. The training content, covering both Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel, was highly relevant to today’s rapidly evolving technological landscape, enhancing participants’ ability to manage data effectively within their organizations.
Ms. Pinky Peña, Chief Statistical Specialist of the Training Division, Minister Atty. Sha. Elijah B. Dumama-Alba, MP of the Ministry of the Interior and Local Government, and Mr. Abdullah V. Matalam, Regional Director of the Department of Interior and Local Government XI (DILG) all gave closing remarks, thanking the training team and participants in their cooperation in ensuring the event’s success.
Now in its seventh year, the SDG seminar series, conducted in partnership with DILG, supports the PSRTI’s mission to empower the Philippine Statistical System (PSS) through capacity-building programs targeted at LGUs and selected NGAs across various regions. This training aligns with the PSRTI’s commitment to building data-driven, sustainable governance frameworks at local and national levels.
