20 attend RTC on descriptive statistics

The PSRTI successfully conducted the virtual Regular Training Course (RTC) on Foundations of Insight: Data Analytics Using Descriptive Statistics, the 2nd RTC for this year, from May 6-9, 2024. The four-day training saw the participation of 20 individuals, who engaged in intensive learning sessions aimed at building a solid foundation in data analytics and presentation techniques.
The course was facilitated by Mr. Rocky Marcelino from the University of the Philippines Los Baños Institute of Statistics (UPLB INSTAT), who is frequently tapped by the PSRTI for his expertise. Mr. Marcelino’s patient teaching style were highly praised by the participants, who also noted his ability to make complex concepts accessible and engaging.
Participants commended the PSRTI training team for their meticulous organization and smooth execution of the virtual event, despite the inherent challenges of remote learning. The well-structured program and interactive sessions ensured that attendees could effectively grasp the principles of descriptive statistics and lay the groundwork for advanced analytics studies.
Dr. Josefina V. Almeda, Executive Director III of PSRTI, graced both the opening and closing ceremonies. In her remarks, Dr. Almeda expressed her gratitude to the participants for choosing PSRTI for their capacity-building needs. She also encouraged them to pursue further training opportunities offered by the institute to continue enhancing their skills.
This successful RTC reflects PSRTI’s commitment to providing high-quality training programs that cater to the evolving needs of the Philippine Statistical System (PSS).
