Two Sections Attend First Virtual RTC of 2024

Due to an overwhelming number of enrollees, the first Regular Training Course (RTC) of 2024 on “Data Management: A Comprehensive Guide to MS Excel and Google Sheets” was split into two sections. Held virtually via Zoom from April 15-18, the course saw participation from 51 and 49 attendees in each section respectively.
Resource Persons Mr. Warren Garcera and Mr. Sim Estallo led the sessions, each managing one section. The comprehensive course provided an introduction to MS Excel and Google Sheets, explored the functionalities of both applications, and gave an overview of MS Excel add-ins. Participants were equipped with skills to consolidate, format, chart, and manage data effectively using these popular spreadsheet tools.
Dr. Josefina V. Almeda, Executive Director III of the Philippine Statistical Research and Training Institute (PSRTI), delivered the welcome remarks during the opening ceremonies. She expressed gratitude for the participants’ support of PSRTI and encouraged them to enroll in future RTCs to enhance their statistical knowledge. Mr. Benedict Roa, Chief Statistical Specialist of the Research Division, delivered the closing remarks on behalf of Dr. Almeda during the closing ceremonies on the final day.
This course marks the first RTC for 2024, with nine more scheduled throughout the year. Upcoming courses will cover topics such as Data Management, Descriptive Statistics, Data Visualization, Technical Writing, and Gender Statistics. All RTCs for the first semester are conducted virtually via Zoom, while face-to-face classes will commence in July.
