The PSRTI commenced its second year of complimentary training courses in partnership with the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) and the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA). The inaugural session, titled “Mastering Data Management: A Guide to Google Sheets and MS Excel,” was successfully conducted on March 19-21, 2024 at the PSA RSSO V office in Legazpi City.

Thirty-two participants from various sectors benefitted from the comprehensive training, which focused on enhancing proficiency in data management using two widely used office tools, MS Excel and Google Sheets. Homegrown PSRTI Resource Persons Mr. Christopher Mojica, Senior Statistical Specialist, and Mr. Ken Zedric G. Ganan, Statistical Specialist II, led the lectures and discussions.
The three-day program equipped attendees with practical skills essential for efficient data handling and analysis, empowering them to leverage technology for improved decision-making processes. Through interactive lectures and hands-on exercises, participants gained insights into optimizing spreadsheet functionalities and leveraging advanced features for data organization and manipulation.
This milestone event signifies the continuation of the PSRTI’s commitment to capacity-building initiatives following the success of the previous year’s complimentary training courses on Data Visualization Using Infographics. The upcoming series of complimentary courses is set to be rolled out across all RSCs nationwide, fostering a culture of continuous learning and equipping regional stakeholders with the tools and knowledge necessary for informed policy formulation and implementation.
