PSRTI celebrates 10th Year Anniversary with Appreciation and Fellowship

The PSRTI celebrates ten years of service with an Appreciation Program on the morning of September 14, 2023, at the Luxent Hotel, Quezon City. In attendance are the PSRTI current and former employees, the PSRTI Governing Board, resource persons, consultants, and representatives from partner agencies.

The Appreciation Program began with a Holy Mass, followed by the program proper. PSRTI Executive Director III Josefina V. Almeda, PhD gave her Welcome Remarks to all guests and staff. The videotaped anniversary message of the Chairperson of the PSRTI Governing Board and National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Secretary Arsenio M. Balisacan came after the Executive Director’s welcoming remarks. Sec. Balisacan greeted the agency for a remarkable 10 years, where it constantly conducts high-quality research outputs and capacity-building activities.
The message of the NEDA Secretary was followed by the showing of Ten Years of PSRTI where notable achievements of the agency for the last 10 years were highlighted.
Anniversary messages were shared by representatives of PSRTI’s stakeholders, namely: Executive Director Dr. Lourdes Portus of the Philippine Social Science Council representing the PSRTI Governing Board; Prof. Manuel Albis of the UP School of Statistics for all Resource Persons; Dr. Lisa Bersales, Executive Director of the Commission on Population Development (CDP) for highly technical consultants; and Mr. Merwin Salazar, Executive Director at the Senate Economic Planning Office (SEPO), for partner agencies.
The PSRTI, reorganized from the former Statistical Research and Training Center (SRTC) and created through Republic Act 10625, or the Philippine Statistical Act of 2013, has faithfully affirmed its mandate of providing high-quality statistical research and training services for the agencies in the Philippine Statistical System (PSS).
