Pursuant to the Presidential Proclamation No. 647, the month of October of every year is declared as the National Statistics Month. This year, the country is celebrating the 26th National Statistics Month with the theme, “Pagyamanin at GamitinangEstadistika, Kalusugan para saLahat ay Abot-Kamay Na”.

In connection with this, the PSRTI also celebrates by actively participating in itsactivities such as the 26th NSM Opening Ceremony held last October 1, 2015 at The Heritage Hotel Manila, Pasay City. The abovementioned event was attended by somePSRTI employees, namely, Ms. Editha C. Adame, Ms. Virginia N. Gañac, Ms. Lolitha M. Oreo and Ms. Mary Ann C. Magtulis, together with Executive Director Zita VJ Albacea.

Moreover, the PSRTI hosted a Photography Contest entitled “Statistics through a Camera Lens”with the NSM’s theme. The entries of the abovementioned contest were showcased thru a month-long photo exhibit opened last October 7, 2015 at the PSRTI Lobby. The judging of the entries was done last October 13, 2015 wherein the judges were Dr. Arturo Y. Pacificador of De La Salle University, DOH’s Bureau of Local Health System and Development Director, Dr. Enrique Tayag, and PSRTI Executive Director Albacea.

Alongside with the 26th NSM celebration, the PSRTI also celebrates the World Statistics Day by having an event last October 20, 2015. The event was attended by the PSRTI staff, guests from PSA, participants of the photography contest and Dr. Enrique Tayag. In the said event, the winners of the Photography Contest were recognized and awarded.

It has been a month full with appreciation of Statistics. May everybody appreciate more the essence of Statistics.
