Director Almeda guests in PSA radio show for Women’s Month

PSRTI Executive Director III Josefina V. Almeda, Ph.D. served as Guest Speaker for the segment on Women Occupying Top Positions in Government, during the virtual broadcast PSA Serbisyo sa Radyo on March 11, 2023, aired live on the PSA Facebook page at 3:00 PM of the same day.

Speaking for the PSRTI, Executive Director Almeda discussed the agency’s research and training services. She invited listeners to visit the PSRTI website and take a look at the agency’s Regular Training Courses (RTCs), slated to begin in April. She encourages and said in jest that, “taking up statistics courses is no longer daunting, as PSRTI’s training program has done away with manual calculations and now makes use of user-friendly software and tools.” She added that recent agency endeavors include the Complimentary Training Courses for the Regional Statistics Committees (RSCs) in Regions V and XII on Data Visualization. Director Almeda shared that bringing research and training capacity programs to the regions is a fulfillment of agency mandates and is key in forging partnerships with the regions, to contribute to nation-building.
When asked about how she fosters gender inclusivity as a woman head of the agency, Director Almeda stressed that she looks beyond gender but more at a person’s character and integrity in working as a public servant.
